Ways To Give
We are very fortunate to be part of a community that gives to Hunterdon Healthcare in many ways. Volunteers have been a rich part of the history of Hunterdon Medical Center. They helped to fundraise and advocate for the hospital before the ground was even broken to build Hunterdon Medical Center. Over 60 years later, we have nearly 450 volunteers both adult, juniors and even pet therapy dogs that support the hospital and satellite locations. Volunteering is one way to give back to Hunterdon Healthcare and your community. We also have many dedicated blood donors who come in each week and roll up their sleeves to support the hospital. All the blood donated at Hunterdon Medical Center benefits our patients, many may be your friends and neighbors. Another option of giving is through our Hunterdon Healthcare Foundation. Whether it is a monetary gift, hosting an event to benefit our services or having your company come into the hospital to provide a day of caring project, we appreciate the support and generosity we receive.
Throughout the year we are asked to provide a list of items that might bring comfort to our patients: Here is a brief list of suggested items for donation:
- Mini glasses for reading
- Stress balls
- Large print crossword puzzles and word search
- Brand new stuffed animals
- Coloring books for adults and children with colored pencils or crayons
- Children’s books
- Handmade pillow cases with juvenile design or material
- Hand knitted baby blankets
- Fleece tie blankets
- Care packages for homebound seniors – suggestions include: a toothbrush, toothpaste, hand cream, playing cards, stress ball, crossword puzzle.
