Helping you maintain a healthy weight begins with your primary care physician. Your primary care physician is specifically trained to be your first point of entry into the healthcare system and will be your advocate in coordinating your ongoing care working closely with The Center for Healthy Weight.
Your primary care physician will routinely monitor your weight and assess your overall health to determine if your weight may be putting you at risk for high blood pressure, high levels of triglycerides in your blood, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, arthritis, and obstructive sleep apnea.
If you don’t already have a primary care physician, you may consider selecting a doctor who specializes in family practice or internal medicine. A complete listing is available through Hunterdon Medical Center’s Physician Search.
