Diagnosed: 23.1 million people
Undiagnosed: 7.2 million people
Prediabetes: 84.1 million people – 33.9% of adults 18 and older, 48.3% of adults 65 or older have prediabetes.
Men
15.3 million, or 12.7% of all men aged 18 years or older have diabetes.
Women
14.9 million, or 11.7% of all women aged 18 years or older have diabetes.
Race and ethnic difference in the prevalence of diagnosed diabetes
7.4% of non-Hispanic whites
8% of Asian Americans
12.7% of non-Hispanic blacks
12.1% Hispanics
15.1% American Indians/Alaskan Natives
Among Hispanics rates were:
