COVID-19 Safety Guidelines

Hunterdon Healthcare is committed to keeping the community informed about the latest information regarding the coronavirus. Bright Tomorrows has been working diligently to keep children safe and has incorporated the guidelines set forth by the New Jersey Department of Children and Families (DCF) – Office of Licensing (OOL), as well as updates from the Infection Prevention Department of Hunterdon Medical Center, into our daily routines. As a reminder, if your child is sick, please do not send him/her to day care.

Child care centers must follow all safety guidelines detailed by the Department of Children and Families, including:

  • Screening staff and children for fever (100.4 or higher) and other COVID-19 symptoms prior to entry to Bright Tomorrows each day;
  • Reduced number of children in each classroom, and restricted movement between classrooms by administrators and staff, and no movement between classrooms by children;
  • Drop-off and pick-up routines that ask parents to wear masks, and provides social distancing markers to keep families safe;
  • Strictly limiting the sharing of supplies, food, toys, and other items between children;
  • Prohibiting field trips and other off-site activities, with the exception of activities within walking distance of the facility;
  • Strictly limiting and re-directing close person-to-person contact (hugging, games involving touching or tagging);
  • Requiring staff to wear cloth masks unless doing so would inhibit the individual’s health – and encouraging children over 2 years to wear a mask except during meals and rest times;
  • Continuing to teach and reinforce healthy hygiene practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19;
  • Limiting visitors to comply with the most recent child care standards/executive orders;
  • Implementing enhanced cleaning and sanitation practices;
  • Planning for and abiding by procedures for response to COVID-19 exposure;
  • Completing DCF Office of Licensing daily log; and
  • Requiring notices and wall signs to be posted on entry and exit doors, in diapering areas, and in restrooms.
