Cancer Thriving & Surviving, a free workshop to support the needs of cancer survivors and family members is being offered in a virtual format starting September 30, 2021.  This workshop provides adults impacted by cancer with self-management skills to maximize their long-term health outcomes.  Trained facilitators guide participants through an evidence-based process over a six-week period to explore challenges, develop new skills, and create action plans that support their quality of life goals moving forward.

As the number of cancer survivors continues to grow, the delivery of support services are paramount to ensuring people impacted by cancer can optimize skills and resources that can contribute to their long-term health needs.  Survivors experience a host of issues as a result of a cancer diagnosis and treatment that include physical, emotional, and psychosocial challenges.

“Survivors often share that an unsettling part of their experience is when their treatment ends and there is the uncertainty of what is next.  This workshop is designed specifically to help better manage challenges.  Workshop participants find the format to be a supportive environment providing a comfortable and secure setting to share and learn,” states Bonnie Petrauskas, Regional Coordinator for the Coalition.

This free, 6-week program runs every Thursday from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm starting on September 30th through November 4th.  Each week builds off the previous to cover a wide variety of topics such as dealing with stress/anxiety, fatigue, issues with sleeping, setting realistic goals, and living with uncertainty to name a few.

Advanced registration is required and space is limited. Call 908-237-2328 to register today.
