Hunterdon Medical Center Receives Donation of Overnight Go Bags from Pillowpak
Hunterdon Medical Center received 30 overnight go bags from Pillowpak of Clinton, NJ. The bags will be given to members of the hospital’s clinical staff who may need to have an overnight ‘go’ bag ready if they are required to stay overnight.
Pillowpak is a machine-washable, ultra-light travel bag created to carry a pillow but also incorporates purposefully designed compartments for change of clothes, toiletries, a dedicated pocket for cell phone, earbuds and charger, a special keepsake pocket, and a uniquely accessed pillow pocket to help keep the pillow clean, dry and allergen-free. Pillowpak can be used as a backpack, sling bag or carried like a traditional duffel bag.
Since January 2020, Hunterdon Healthcare has been closely monitoring the Coronavirus situation and coordinating preparedness efforts with the Hunterdon County Department of Health and Hunterdon County Office of Emergency Management. Many precautions have been put in place including, temporarily closing non-emergent services, limiting visitors, screenings at all entrances, implementing a community hotline, and erecting a respiratory illness tent, just to name a few.
“We are grateful to community organizations like Pillowpak who have generously donated items to help alleviate the stress and pressure that our staff is experiencing at this time,” said Phil Beekman, Senior Vice President, Hunterdon Healthcare Foundation. He continued, “As our employees work around the clock to implement protocols to prevent, protect, and care for not only patients and visitors, but also the community at large, we are thankful for the outpouring of donations, food, and well wishes we are receiving at this time.”
In light of the current COVID-19 situation, “It’s nice to know we can help the clinical staff at Hunterdon Medical Center feel comfortable about traveling with their personal belongings back-and-forth to the hospital”, shared Bill Loss, co-founder of Pillowpak. “The machine-wash ability of Pillowpak is just another step to helping keep patients, staff, family members and loved ones healthy during this difficult time.”
