Hunterdon Healthcare Sponsors CPR Training Aids to NHHS Students

October 25, 2019

The North Hunterdon Education Foundation (NHEF) is pleased to announce that Hunterdon Healthcare (HH) has generously provided a sponsorship for 32 CPR training manikins to North Hunterdon High School (NHHS) to improve the quality of student health care education.   These devices will be used during Junior Health classes to certify that students are proficient in CPR and first aid techniques. Approximately 400 NHHS Juniors each year are trained to meet the requirements of the State of New Jersey for First Aid and CPR Certification.

In addition to the students, staff and faculty members at NHHS must also continue to be trained in First Aid and CPR.   The newly donated CPR manikins provide an easy to understand indication system for the student to see how to properly administer CPR. A rate light comes on when the correct rate is achieved and a second light comes on to show correct depth with proper release. When the student keeps both lights on, they are delivering quality CPR.  These aids will enable students to train and improve their CPR skills.  Parents were able to see the training aids their children will use during Back to School Nights at NHHS.

Kathleen Seelig,  Corporate Director of Public Relations and Marketing at Hunterdon Healthcare, stated, “Hunterdon Healthcare is pleased to provide these aids that will help in the teaching of critical lifesaving skills for NHHS students and staff.  Hunterdon Healthcare is committed to improving the health and well-being of our community.”

The North Hunterdon Education Foundation is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization guided by the parent volunteers from the North Hunterdon sending districts and dedicated to enhancing the quality of education at the high school.  In existence since 2014, the NHEF has funded student-centered projects from many different departments in excess of $125,000.
