The Family Crisis Intervention Unit

helps families in crisis. Defusing and stabilizing juvenile / family crises may divert them from the family court system. FCIU serves as the coordinator and liaison between the family, the treatment community and family court system.

We Serve

juveniles and their families in Hunterdon County up to the age of 18 who may be experiencing

  • Family conflict
  • Truancy
  • Runaway
  • A threat to their physical safety or wellbeing

Referrals come from

  • Families
  • The Division of Youth and Family Services
  • Police Departments
  • Probation
  • Schools
  • Other social service agencies

Our Services Include

  • Crisis Intervention – In person or by telephone, 24 hours a day
  • Assessment
  • Short-term counseling
  • Outreach
  • Case Management

    • individual and family counseling
    • group therapy
    • intensive outpatient programs
    • psychiatric evaluations
    • School-based services
    • substance abuse treatment
All FCIU services are voluntary, and are provided free of charge.
