John S. Waters, MD


Dr. John S. WatersJohn S. Waters is the Assistant Director of Phillips-Barber Family Health Center of Hunterdon Medical Center Family Practice Residency Program. He is also the Quality Assurance Director of the Department of Family Practice within the Medical Staff of Hunterdon Medical Center, the Medical Director of Geriatrics Services, the Coordinator of the Geriatrics Curriculum and the presenter of periodic lectures offered through the Medical Staff Grand Rounds at Hunterdon Medical Center. Dr. Waters is a graduate of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, and received his medical degree from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine, also in Winston-Salem. He completed his family residency through Hunterdon Medical Center and traveled back to NC to complete a visiting fellowship in geriatrics and academic skills at the East Carolina University School of Medicine. Dr. Waters has given presentations on understanding dementia, nursing home curriculum for family practice residents and teaching geriatrics to family practice residents. Dr. Waters belongs to the American Board of Family Practice, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Geriatrics Society and the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine. He is board certified in both family practice and geriatrics, and is a family practice instructor at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Waters is married with two daughters.
