Weight Management Program for Kids Offered At the Hunterdon Health and Wellness Center
The Center for Nutrition and Diabetes Management, Hunterdon Pediatric Associates and the Hunterdon Health and Wellness Centers are offering, “Weigh to Go,” a 4-week weight management program for kids ages 10 to 14 and their parents. Weigh to Go will be held Wednesdays beginning April 11th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The class will discuss nutrition from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and an exercise class will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The program will meet at the Hunterdon Health and Wellness Center, 537 US 22, Whitehouse Station, NJ. The fee for the program is $95, which also includes a free 2-month membership to the Hunterdon Health and Wellness Centers. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent when exercising at the Wellness Centers.
Weigh to Go will promote changes in food habits, exercise and self-esteem. Weigh to Go is a non-diet approach to weight loss with emphasis on making changes now that can be sustained long term. In addition, a qualified member of the Hunterdon Health and Wellness Center staff will provide supervision and guidance throughout the strength training and cardiovascular components of the program.
Michelle Wright, a Registered Dietitian at the Center for Nutrition and Diabetes Management, will lead the program. This program has limited openings available.
