Hunterdon Integrative Medicine Offering Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Course
All of us have periods of heavy stress, or general stress in our everyday lives. Finding ways to deal with stress isn’t easy, but mindfulness is one of the greatest ways to take control of your own stress. Hunterdon Integrative Medicine is offering an 8-week course, including a free orientation and introduction class, on mindfulness-based stress reduction, so you can learn how to manage your stress.
Mindfulness can help you learn how to pay attention to the present moment, which will allow you to worry less about the past or the future. You will learn to feel less overwhelmed with each passing difficulty, and recognize that stress-related thoughts are not facts. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MSBR) is supported by 30 years of research evidence which shows that participants learn how to respond more effectively to stress, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and illness as well as to challenges inherent in life today. Many participants report lasting decreases in both physical and psychological symptoms.
This 8-week course will utilize meditation, yoga, and other mindfulness practices, and daily home practice supported by CDs. The orientation will be held on March 13th from 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Clinton Health Campus, 1738 Rte. 31 North in Clinton and the 8-week class will follow on Thursdays, March 23rd-May 25th (No class on April 13th & May 11th). The full 8-week course costs $400 and payment plans are available.
