Hunterdon Medical Center Unveils A Star is Born Program
Published February 22, 2008
For generations, Hunterdon Medical Center has been the birthplace of babies from all over the region. The excitement that surrounds the welcoming of a baby is a time to remember and cherish forever. Hunterdon Medical Center’s Auxiliary is launching, A Star is Born, a tribute program for parents, grandparents, relatives and friends to celebrate the birth of a new baby.
A mural for the A Star is Born program was painted outside Hunterdon Medical Center’s Maternity and Newborn Care Center by Beverly Peterson of Pittstown. Nearly 1000 gold stars are represented on the mural which light up a night time sky. “When parents, grandparents, relatives or friends purchase a star, the newborn’s name and birth date will be inscribed on a plaque that will go on the star,” explained Meredith Betz, Executive Vice President of the Hunterdon Medical Center Foundation. In addition, parents will receive a commemorative certificate, A Star is Born stuffed bear, and the baby will receive a birthday card on his or her first birthday.
Hunterdon Medical Center’s Auxiliary purchased the first star in honor of Hunterdon Medical Center’s Baby New Year, Aaron Harvey. Aaron was born to Ann and Alan Harvey of Holland Township.
A star can be purchased for a minimum gift of $50 as a tax-deductible donation to the Hunterdon Medical Center Foundation, which will benefit the Maternity and Newborn Care Center. To purchase a star, call Hunterdon Medical Center’s Foundation at 908-788-6141 or stop by the Foundation office located in Hunterdon Medical Center, first floor in corridor A.
