Dr. Mehmet Oz Speaks at Hunterdon Medical Center’s Heart Forum

The Oprah Winfrey Show’s health expert, Dr. Mehmet Oz spoke to more than 500 people on Sunday, February 24th at Hunterdon Medical Center’s Annual Heart Forum event for women. The event was co-sponsored by Friends’ Health Connection, Hunterdon Healthcare Partners, Hunterdon Cardiovascular Associates and Exxon Mobil. Dr. Oz provided insights from his book series, “You: The Owner’s Manual,” “You: The Smart Patient,” “You: On a Diet” and his newest book “You: Staying Young.” In addition, Dubravka Starcevic, M.D., a cardiologist at Hunterdon Medical Center, provided an overview on the differences between men and women when it comes to having a heart attack and also discussed the effects of losing a loved one and how these emotions impact the heart in what she described as the “broken heart syndrome.”
