Nursing

The hospital experience is shaped often by the experience that a patient has with the nursing staff. Caring, professional and dedicated nurses set Hunterdon Medical Center apart as one of the highest scoring hospitals in terms of patient satisfaction.

Our holistic approach to patient care, professional development programs and collaborative environment contribute to the success of our superior nursing program. We are one of the few hospitals to achieve Magnet™ status and NICHE designation. We are proud of the culture established and maintained by our nurses, which makes Hunterdon Medical Center the right choice for patients and nursing professionals.

A Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) is an advanced generalist that oversees patient care coordination, assesses health risks, develops quality improvement strategies and implements evidence-based solutions at the unit level. A few of the daily activities of a CNL include environmental assessments, reviewing patient charts and rounding. High risk patients and new admissions are a CNL’s priority. A CNL is focused on quality and safe patient care and improved patient outcomes. Currently, Hunterdon Medical Center has four CNLs located on 5 North, 5 South, 5 West and 3 West.
