FRAP is designed to help indiciduals with a family history of cancer to understand hereditary factors that can influence their risk of cancer. Survivorship Teleconference

Join us for one, two, or all three presentations as we listen to live broadcasts discussing issues faced by cancer survivors. Each session will be held in the Cancer Center Conference Room, followed by a time for discussion. This program is open to all patients and their supports!

Donate Blood

Fewer than five percent of healthy Americans actually roll up their sleeves and donate blood each year. To be eligible to donate blood, a person must be at least 17 years of age, be in good health and weigh at least 110 pounds. Gastroenterologists, Andrea Goldstein, M.D. and Jason Matthews, M.D. of Hunterdon Gastroenterology Associates will help attendees find ways to address all areas of constipation including its relationship to irritable bowel syndrome. This program will also focus on nutrition as well as laxatives, how they work and if they are the right option for you.  Get the answers to help solve the "silent discomfort." Arthritis and Osteoporosis Support and Education Group

2nd Monday of each month

Held in Meeting Room A/B at Hunterdon Medical Center. This free support and education group is open to individuals with arthritis, their families and caregivers. Some meetings will include an educational portion led by a health professional, followed by a group discussion about relevant topics, which concern the quality of life for people affected by arthritis. Hospice Volunteer Training

Youth Art Therapy Bereavement Program

School-age children (Kindergarten through 12th grade) who have experienced the loss of a loved one are welcome. Parents are invited to attend a companion parents’ group. Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program (Formerly PACE)

Hunterdon Behavioral Health Anger Management Group

A 7-week group for adults over 18. This cognitive, behavioral group therapy aims to change inflammatory thinking distortions into realistic, coping self-talk. Most insurance plans accepted.

HypnoBirth Classes

One evening per week for 5 weeks
6:30-9:00 p.m.

The HypnoBirth philosophy is that while muscles and nerves may send pain impulses, the pain can be blocked with the use of hypnosis, a naturally induced state of relaxed concentration. HypnoBirthing is a great choice for a birth as natural and intervention free as possible. Cost: $205 per couple or single. To learn more, call 908-788-MOMS.

Hypnosis Services

HMC now offers Hypnosis for families to help make the most of their pregnancy and childbirth experience. Hypnosis can help with issues such as nausea, vomiting, high blood pressure, preterm labor, stress, smoking, fears, and weight loss. Jean Jamele, RN, and Christine Race, RN, each have over 30 years of nursing experience. Both are certified Hynocounselors through the National Guild of Hypnotists. Fee varies. Breastfeeding Class

Experts agree that breast is best! This class offers excellent information on how breastfeeding works, how to get started, how to tell when baby has had enough to eat, and common problems you may encounter while breastfeeding. Sibling Classes: Becoming a New Family

Insulin Pump Group

Meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
The free group is open to anyone interested in or currently using insulin pump therapy as a treatment for insulin requiring diabetes. Family and friends are welcome to join. All ages are welcome.

Shapedown Children's Weight Management Program
(for ages 6-18)

A 10-week program offered year-round for children ages 6-18. Shapedown promotes changes in food habits, exercise, self-esteem and weight. The emphasis is on producing changes now that can be sustained in the long run to increase the chances that a child/teen will enter adulthood free from dieting and weight concerns. Smart Cart - Personal Grocery Shopper

Have you ever wished that you could take your own nutritionist to the grocery store? Hunterdon Medical Center introduces our personal grocery shopper service. A nutritionist will provide customized nutrition advice based on your food preferences and dietary needs as she guides you through the grocery store aisles. You will come away with a customized grocery list, label reading skills and information to make informed decisions about food.

Sugar Babies

Sugar Babies is a support group for kids with Type 1 diabetes and their families.

Our purpose is to help these kids and their families adjust successfully to the ongoing demands of diabetes management using the strategies of games, problem solving and role playing.

Weigh to Go

Weigh to Go is a 4 week weight management group for kids ages 10-14. Weigh to Go is a non diet approach to weight loss that promotes changes in food habits and exercise that can be sustained long term. Classes are provided by a registered dietitian. Yoga for Every Age

Hunterdon Medical Center offers Yoga every Friday from 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Classes are held at the hospital in Meeting Room C.

Classes are taught by a certified Kripalu Yoga Instructor Lynne C. LaSpina, C.Y.T., R.Y.T. The cost is $10 per session and participants should bring a yoga mat, towel and wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing. The class is open not only to people with diabetes but all who have an interest in yoga. Class size is limited. No registration required.
