Hunterdon Wound Healing Center Honored

Opened in November 2007, the  Hunterdon Wound Healing Center  is already becoming an industry leader in quality care.  It has been awarded the New Center Outcomes Award by National Healing Corporation (NHC), a leader in disease management accounting for more than 30 percent of the nation’s managed and outsourced wound healing centers.

The award was bestowed during an Advanced Clinical Symposium in Orlando, Florida, which featured briefings by internationally recognized specialists on new treatment options and research that may bring additional advances in the care of chronic wounds.  Other sessions included hands-on training opportunities, clinical information on accepted standards of care and safety updates. 

NHC Chief Clinical Officer Katherine Rowland presented the award saying, “A National Healing Wound Center must have 22 months measurable results to be considered for this award.  The Hunterdon Wound Healing Center has displayed exceptional dedication and results healing 91 percent of chronic wounds, which had not healed in more than 30 days and quite often a great deal longer.”

The Hunterdon Wound Healing Center specializes in the treatment of chronic wounds and non-responsive conditions and offers hospital-based outpatient wound care as well as disease management and diabetes care.  It offers leading edge therapies including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, the use of vascular studies, tissue culturing and pathology, revascularization, skin grafting and clinical or surgical debridement.
