Students in the Enrichment Class at Union Township Middle School in Hampton organized a flannel pant fundraising drive to raise money for HunterdonRegional Cancer Center in honor of their 7th grade science teacher Karen Delgado, who is a patient at the cancer center. The students raised over $400 from their sale.
The funds will be used to support the Hunterdon Medical Center Foundation’s Investing in a New Generation of Care Capital Campaign. The Campaign already raised $9 million, spurring the expansion of the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center’s radiation oncology wing, which opened March 22nd. The new wing houses the Varian Trilogy™ Linear Accelerator radiation therapy technology, the most powerful, precise and versatile system for treating cancer. The Campaign will also fund the renovation and expansion of a surgical suite to include two new state-of-the-art operating rooms, a new family waiting room and a pre-operative patient area. In addition, the campaign will support the centralization of acute care cardiovascular services to include private patient rooms, cardiac catheterization labs and a cardiovascular critical care unit.
