Lori Wyble, RD, CSO, Coordinator, Oncology Nutrition Services at Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center has achieved board certification as a specialist in oncology nutrition from the American Dietetic Association (ADA).
“Board certification as a Specialist in Oncology helps to identify registered dietitians with this professional skill set as the nutrition experts for patients who are seeking timely, accurate and reliable information on eating well before, during or after cancer treatment,” said Wyble. To become board certified, a registered dietitian must successfully meet rigorous specialty practice requirements and pass a nationally administered examination from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), the credentialing agency for the ADA.
Board certified specialists in oncology nutrition are registered dietitians working directly with individuals at risk for, or diagnosed with, any type of malignancy or pre-malignant condition. Wyble is one of the registered dietitians to offer oncology nutrition counseling to patients of Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center.
The ADA is the world’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals. The mission of the Commission on Dietetic Registration is to protect the nutritional health and welfare health of the public through dietetics certification. CDR currently awards seven separate and distinct credentials.
